James Aita | Production Designer & Builder brings 20 years of expertise in production design, set building, and prop styling. From crafting immersive environments for luxury brands like Brooks Brothers, Victoria’s Secret, Jeans West, Land’s End, and Luxotica to designing standout costumes for Wigstock and The Village Halloween Parade, my work merges creativity with precision.
Collaborating with Basic Theater Company, AquarianStar Productions, and All Out Arts, I have designed costumes featured in Entertainment Weekly, Us Weekly, The Daily News, The Village Voice, The New York Post, Next Magazine, HX Magazine, Broadway.com, Fox News, WB Morning News, Access Hollywood, and PBS’s Souls of New York.
Beyond production design, I have worked on and off-air as an interior designer for HGTV and DIY Networks. From 2014 to 2020, I designed, built, and operated 255West Guesthouse, a four-room inn in Manhattan. Now, I manage Heritage House, a charming bed and breakfast in the Hudson Valley, NY.
